The sun and the moon are drawn at their true positions in the sky, computed from each venue’s coordinates and orientation
  • Roofs modelled per venue, from open bowls to full fixed roofs with only a pitch-sized opening, and real 400m athletics tracks where they exist

THE TECHNOLOGY

The viewer runs on WebGL through the three.js library. Every stadium is generated from a compact parametric description of its geometry (footprint, tiers, rake, corners, roof) rather than heavy downloaded 3D models, so the entire catalogue ships as one lightweight page that loads in seconds and runs smoothly on a laptop, a tablet or a phone. The tens of thousands of individual seats in each bowl are drawn in a single GPU pass. Sunlight and moonlight follow standard astronomical calculations from each venue’s latitude, longitude and true-north bearing, with kickoff times interpreted in the stadium’s timezone. No plugins, no downloads, nothing to install.

  • Exact category mapping: real section outlines, names and numbering traced venue by venue, replacing the current uniform slices
  • True stand steepness: per-tier heights and rake tuned to each ground
